The journal is committed to maintaining the highest level of integrity in the content published and handles acts of potential misconduct according to the principles and directions given by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Peer review procedures
The journal adopts a double-blinded peer review process. The articles received are assigned by the editors in chief to the associate editors on the basis of their skills and research interests; each associate editor contacts two external reviewers, who receive an e-mail that also recalls the guidelines (in English) to follow during the reviewing process; the reviewers’ guidelines can be found, together with the authors’ guidelines, in the journal’s webpage at the following link: https://economiamarche.univpm.it/index.php/em/about/submissions.
The articles accepted at the end of the reviewing process are forwarded to the managing editors, who take care of the publication process. If situations of conflict of interest are ascertained in relation to a published article, one of the managing editors or the editors in chief informs the associate editor who dealt with the publication process under scrutiny and the author of the article and, if necessary, prepares an erratum or asks for the article to be withdrawn. Management of ethical issues concerning research practices
If some form of plagiarism is found in a published article, the journal management informs the associate editor and the author of the article and, if necessary, prepares an erratum or asks for the article to be withdrawn. In the case of articles that concern research conducted with the participation of individuals, the authors are required to comply with the Ethical Code of the related scientific association, as well as with the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), and to declare the presence or absence of conflicts of interest. The authors, in the research process and the presentation of the results, must also act with transparency and autonomy, respecting all the people involved in the research and in the interest of the participants, colleagues, the institutions involved and the scientific community.
Management of post-publication issues and possible correction or retraction of published articles
In case some post-publication issues (e.g., potential plagiarism) emerge, the managing directors or the editors-in-chief contact the editorial board in order to discuss and establish the entity of the violation. This procedure is conducted in compliance with COPE’s guidelines concerning “Post-publication discussions and corrections”. If the detected violation is regarded as so significant that it is not possible to proceed with the article correction (which would involve the author as well), the editorial board will withdraw the publication and remove the article from the journal’s website.
Intellectual property policy
The journal recognizes the importance of intellectual property rights in research and publication. More information is reported below:
-Copyright Ownership: the authors retain the copyright of their original work published in "Economia Marche - Journal of Applied Economics", which acts as the first publisher of the article and holds the non-exclusive right to publish and distribute the work;
-Plagiarism and Unauthorized Use: authors should ensure that their submitted work is original and does not infringe upon the intellectual property rights of others; plagiarism, including the use of someone else’s work without appropriate acknowledgement, is strictly prohibited; unauthorized use of copyrighted materials within the published articles, such as images, figures, or tables, is not permitted without obtaining the necessary permissions;
-Intellectual Property Disputes: the journal will address any intellectual property disputes or concerns promptly and in accordance with COPE’s guidelines.
